I was born in 1965 in Krakow. In 1987-1992, having joined the Geodesy and Cartography Master’s program, I studied with the specialization in Mining Geodesy (on an individual basis) at the Faculty of Mining Surveying and Environmental Engineering, AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, and received the degree of Master of Science in Mining Geodesy. In 1996-1999 I continued my studies, participating in the extramural MSc program, with the specialization in Technology of Subsurface Mining, Faculty of Mining, AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. In 1996-1997 I participated in the postgraduate program in Mine Areas Protection at the Faculty of Mining Surveying and Environmental Engineering, AGH University of Science and Technology. On 11 December 2003 I received the title of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of Geodesy and Cartography by the resolution of the Faculty of Mining Surveying and Environmental Engineering, AGH University of Science and Technology. The title of the doctoral dissertation presented was: “Verification of Models of Non-Stationary Field of Horizontal Displacements Resulting from Mining”. On 08 May 2013 I received the habilitation degree in technical sciences, in the field of Geodesy and Cartography. The title of the habilitation dissertation presented was: “Analysis and determination of the parameters of the deformation prediction model caused by underground mining”.
Since graduation I have been professionally involved in holding classes, lectures and in scientific research. In the years 1993-2001 I was employed as an Assistant in the Department of Mining Areas Protection, Faculty of Mining Surveying and Environmental Engineering, AGH University of Science and Technology. Since 06/10/2004 I have been employed as a lecturer in the Department of Geodesy, Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Geodesy, University of Agriculture in Krakow. Parallel since 01/02/2017 I work as an Associate Professor in the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformatics, Geoengineering, Mining and Geology Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. In 2001-2004 and 2007-2009 I was involved in contract work holding classes at the Faculty of Mining Surveying and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection, AGH University of Science and Technology.
My main scientific interests are related to several lines of research that are relevant to surveying, geodesy, especially in mining and mining damages management, as well as mining itself, geomechanics, and computer science. My interests vary between geodetic measurement, the application of modern technology for precise measurement of land displacement and deformation, measurement automation, modelling of transport processes associated with the development of deformations, application of mathematical methods, and database building. The effects of the studies I conducted include articles published in academic magazines. Some of the work was published in journals indexed by the Journal Citation Report (JCR). I’m author or co-author in 92 papers.
